Study on fired Suzhou kaolin at different calcination temperatures

  • The Suzhou kaolin sample and the fired kaolin samples at different calcination temperatures were characterized with XRF, SEM, XRD, IR and NMR. The results showed that the fired kaolin samples were transformed from crystal to non-crystal, and calcination temperature had some affects on their morphology and structure: the higher the calcination temperature, the fewer the small particles with rod and plate morphologies, and the fewer the AIIV in the fired kaolin.
