An optimal model of cooling condition in billet continuous casting is setted up. It is suit for the making choice of optimal secondary cooling scheme and maxinum casting speed. This optimization problem is analyzed with the optimal control theory of separated parameter system. The model has been applied in production and it has been proved to be reasonable.
