Numerical simulation of argon blowing behaviors of molten steel with purging plug in ladle bottom

  • The blowing behaviors of a refining ladle were studied with purging plug at different positions.The flow field of molten steel in the ladle after argon blowing was calculated by a multiphase flow model and multiple regression,and the best position of the purging plug was obtained.The results indicated that the mixing effect of argon blowing on molten steel changed greatly with the position of the purging plug at the bottom of the ladle.The molten steel was mixed uniformly by argon bubbling when the distance between the position of the purging plug and the center of the ladle bottom was 0.44R0-0.48R0.
