Abstract

Abstract

An overview is given on world-wide activities in this field. Production facilities of SMS/Nucor and MDH/Arvedi are described. Development of thin slab and thin billet casting technology in China are reviewed. A new centrifugal caster for producing (60²~70²)mm²×1500mm thin billets for mini-mills in China has been designed.
